So i was driving my 2019 promaster camper and i noticed some electrical problems but i didint think it was that serious and kept going. well, guess what? Engine is dead :( We are planning a long trip with my wife so i need to replace the whole engine. i wanna know if i have to strictly go with the same one or there are others that fit from other models?

I am very sorry to hear that :( But, good news is that you are not strictly limited to use the same motor but it all depends on your model cuz compatibility is the key. the stock engine is 3.6L pentastar v6 or 3.0 ecodiesel. if you like to find some alternatives you should consider factors like motor mounts, ecu compatibility, wiring harness and transmission fitment although it's way more easier to stick with the same original engine.

Aw, it would be such a bummer if Donna and I would cancel a plan like that. Sounds so nice to have a long rest from work. Strictly go with the same one for sure, so you don't have to waste more time reading about compatibility and new stuff.

Stick with your original engine. Other options could be from the ProMaster 2500 or 3500 but then again it's a tad complicated.

Ideally, yes, you should stick with the same engine that originally came in your 2019 Promaster camper
