wiring a dash cam to the fuse box

congratulations on the new van! dash cams can be tricky sometimes but if ur unsure, have u tried a multimeter? so u can find the fuse w the correct power. hope this helps

Using hardwiring kits and a multimeter help, but it pays to know your van's fuse diagram!
A friend tried hardwiring her dashcam and totally picked the wrong fuse.
A couple of blown fuses later, I guess we can say she learned her lesson.. just the hard way!

Connect the ground to the chassis, then connect the ACC to a fuse that's live with the ignition, like the radio or cigar lighter. For the Battery, use a fuse that's always 12V, such as the one for the dome light. Make sure to use add-a-fuse adapters and match the fuse type,mini, micro, etc. Also, put a 5A fuse in line for the cam

That looks great. Just make sure the add-a-fuse is the same type and amp rating as the original. Also, double-check that the 5A cam fuse is in line to keep the circuit safe.
