When my family built this van, we didn't want to install AC so we were mostly concerned to keep the van cool in hot weather.
We prioritized lots of window for ventilation, natural light, and of course, for sight seeing. We initially added double thinsulate to the ceiling but we found it more than handy when we found ourselves camping in North Dakota with below 0 degrees! I added thinsulate covers and blankets to windows, any exposed metal surfaces, and cab area but for the sliders we just trusted what was already installed.
Result? Both existing and additional insulations protected us from the extreme cold! Oh how satisfying it was to enjoy the chilly weather and the cozy up on our cabin on wheels!
