Driving comfort workarounds needed

After a long trip in my new PM, I realized the design is anything but forgiving for comfort. The seats are stiff, and the steering wheel is too far out of reach without a telescopic adjustment. The pedal position forces my legs into an awkward angle, making extended drives pretty taxing. Am looking at memory foam seat cushions and aftermarket armrests as potential fixes, but it feels like putting a bandage on a bigger issue. Has anyone found a better way to address these quirks?

Yeahhh, I get what you mean. The PM isn't really for long rides if you don't have MODs. I got a clip-on armrest for me and it fits the door edge! Plus plus you can add a platform to help your foot for the pedal anyway. And yes the steering wheel reach, you can only really go for an aftermarket option but it's not plain & simple! It's quite ... expensive. For the seats I did just add some cushion and back support. Affordable now that we have TikTok shop in the US lol.

I ended up trying a memory foam cushion and aftermarket armrest which made a world of difference. Haven't ventured into the steering wheel yet but will keep the aftermarket option in mind for down the road. Appreciate your input!

I hear you, those little issues really add up. Cushions and armrests might help, but it's a shame they don't fix the root problem and then sometimes it feels like you're just patching up design flaws that should've been addressed from the start. Hopefully, you find a setup that makes it more comfortable for longer drives.

you know, a lot of ppl have swapped out the factory seats for more comfortable aftermarket options from ScheelMann, Recaro, or even seats from other vans/SUVs. This can make a huge difference

yep I feel you, man. and i've been looking at Recaro. I haven't tried memory foam seats though.

That point about swapping the whole seat out like some guys mentioned is really where the magic happens for long haul comfort in these ProMasters. I put Scheel Manns in my rig after a cross country trip left me aching and it truly made all the difference for those extended drives.

You really hit the nail on the head. The cushions helped but yeah it feels like just a temporary fix for the bigger design issues.

Thanks for that suggestion about swapping the seats. Definitely sounds like replacing them with something like a ScheelMann or Recaro is a popular route for real comfort.

I hear you man the comfort struggle is real. The memory foam I tried did help some but those Recaros are on my radar too if I decide to upgrade big time.

That is great to hear your Scheel Manns worked out so well. It really makes a strong case for biting the bullet and doing a full seat replacement.
